Fresh out of college, Staley worked at Next City, a platform that provides daily breaking coverage of the leaders, policies and innovations driving progress in metropolitan regions across the world. He then spent the next decade freelancing, writing articles for various publications such as The New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Playboy, The Awl, San Francisco Bay Guardian, XXL, Complex, The Fader, The Boston Globe, and many others.
