2017: 34th Congressional District
Mr. Morrison has entered the race to replace Xavier Becerra (D) after he was appointed the new Attorney general by Governor Jerry Brown. The race has become mostly democratic with Morrison the only Republican candidate.
Twenty-three candidates filed to run in the race: 19 Democrats, one Republican, and three others.
All candidates will compete in the same primary, and the top two—regardless of party affiliation—will advance to the general election.
Should one candidate receive more than 50 percent of the primary vote, a general election will not occur.
