William Klug
William Klug
William Scott Klug (pronounced: Kloog) was a 39 year old Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering professor at UCLA. His field of Interest included computational structural and solid mechanics, computational biomechanics, and micro/nanomechanicsof biological systems. [1]
William Klug got married to engineer, Mary Elise Richter Klug since 1999. The couple have a 10 year old son and a daughter. The family lives in El Segundo. William coached his sonโs little league baseball Team. He liked to surf and had a strong Christian faith.
Education
William Klug graduated from California Institute of Technology in 2003 with a Ph.D. Recently he was a graduate of UCLA with an M.S. in 1999. Before that, he got a B.S. degree from Westmont College.
Death
On June 1, 2016, Klug died in a UCLA Shooting. Mainak Sarkar, the Shooter, killed himself, as well. There were no other victims.
Sarkar posted a blog entry describing his hatred of Klug.
A Go Fund Me page was set up with the goal of raising $100,000 to support William's Family and college expenses for his two young children.
