William started his career as a Naval officer undergoing Basic Underwater Demolitions SEAL (BUD/S) training (classes 272, 277). After injuries obtained from Hellweek in 277 he served in Naval Special Warfare Reconnaissance Team One. After being Honorably discharged due to the injuries, he began working at Merrill Lynch. In 2013-2014, he was a Teaching assistant (Department of Computer science) at Columbia University in the City of New York. In 2014 he served as a Product manager at Lifehack Labs and Sharebite, and in 2015 he was a Product manager at Tablet Inc. 
William holds a B.A in Statistics and Computer science from Columbia University in the City of New York. Currently, William is a PhD candidate at New York University Computational Intelligence, Learning, Vision, and Robotics Lab. Previously he was at Columbia University's Center for Theoretical Neuroscience advised by professor Liam Paninski where he worked on Neural decoding from the brain and retina using Deep learning and Bayesian method .
