Evans graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2015 with a Bachelor's degree in economics.

Upon graduating from MIT in 2015, Evans worked as a strategy and analytics analyst at LinkedIn.

He left LinkedIn in February 2017, and joined Luminar Technologies, where he worked to help improve autonomous vehicles.

Evans left the company in January 2019.
