In 2017 he was named the Surrey Academy Player of The Year [2] .

On August 2, 2018 Jacks scored his maiden century for England U-19 in a youth Test match against India. Jacks 2nd fifty of that innings came from just 19balls [3] . His performances over the summer of 2017 both for Surrey and England Youth Teams lead to him being called up for the Young Lions squad to tour South Africa in the winter of 2017 [4] . Jacks impressed in that series which also involved playing matches against Namibia and he finished scoring 2 half centuries batting at number 4 [5] . His strong form lead to him being added to that winters U-19 World Cup squad as vice-captain.

In October 2017, Jacks was handed his first professional contract and promoted to the first team squad [6] .

U-19 World Cup

Jacks prepared for the tournament by stroking 100 from 91 balls against the Irish in a warm up match, a game that also saw him take a wicket and claim 2 catches [7]

In the first game of the tournament proper, Jacks was named man of the match. Firstly he helped restrict Namibia to 196 from their 50 overs. His 10 overs of Off-spin costing just 30 runs and including a wicket. He then smashed 73 from 44balls to ensure England wrapped up a comfortable 8 wicket victory [8]

Another disciplined bowling performance from Jacks helped England to beat Bangladesh [9] before he let lose again in the match against Canada where Jacks clubbed yet another century [10] .

Jacks would take 3 wickets in the Quarter Final against Australia, a performance that at the half way point looked to have secured England a Semi-Final place. However a strong Australian response ended Jacks hopes of helping England to a World Cup win [11]

England ultimately finished 7th after a play-off against host nation New Zealand a game in which Jacks was named captain [12] .

Jacks strong performances lead to the International Cricket Council naming him as one of the stars of the future [13]
