Education
Ahmed schooled at Magna Cum Laude in 2008 from St. Paul's School, where he was Captain of its varsity squash team. Ahmed was recruited to play squash at Harvard University, from which he graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Government and where he was also Captain of its varsity squash team. During the summers, Ahmed undertook finance internships at A.J. Sloane Capital, Allen & Company, and Lindsay Goldberg. [1]
Career
Ahmed founded WHOOP in early 2012 with two other friends from Harvard, John Capodilupo and Aurelian Nicolae, with the aim of analyzing and optimizing athletic performance at a higher level than other fitness trackers available on the market. The WHOOP product offering consists of a sophisticated wrist strap that measures heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), ambient temperature, and motion, paired with companion web and mobile apps that analyze strain, sleep, and recovery.
Among WHOOP's customers are Penn State Football, Duke Men's Basketball, Major League Baseball, and the National Football League Players Association. Since its founding, WHOOP has raised USD 49.8 million in funding, and Ahmed and his cofounders were named in the 2017 Forbes 30 Under 30 in Manufacturing & Industry.
