The first fight was billed as "The Rumble on the RocK" and occurred in Honolulu, Hawaii on January 20, 2006 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center. The first fight between the two parties was under special rules, with ground fighting being limited to fifteen seconds per instance regardless of the situation. This was in part due to the fact that Butterberan weighed 290 pounds, in comparison to Correira's 270 pounds. Esch won the first fight by tko after a doctor stoppage due to an arm injury sustained by Correira.
Correira Fought In Four UFC Events
Wesley Correira lost to Preston Hartzog by decision on November 14, 2000 at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. Correira responded by competing in a competive but losing fight against future Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia on September 27, 2002 at UFC 39. Correira fought in four UFC events from 2002 to 2004, defeating Tank Abbott in 2003 at the Mohegan Sun.

Preston Hartzog vs. Wesley "Cabbage" Correira occurred in Hawaii in 2000. Hartzog won a three round decision in a professional MMA fight. Hartzog was 1997 US Armed Forces Champion superheavyweight champion. Hartzog won a silver medal at the 1999 Military World Games.

Butterbean defeated Peter McNeeley in a professional boxing match at the MGM Grand Las Vegas in 1999. The Mike Tyson vs. Peter McNeeley boxing match generated millions of dollars in revenue at the same location in 1995.
Eric "Butterbean" Esch went ten rounds in a professional boxing match with former World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Larry Holmes in 2002.Esch lost a unanimous decision.[5] Larry Holmes fought Butterbean in front of nearly 8,000 fans on pay-per-view on July 27, 2000. Butterbean scored an official knockdown against Holmes, something Gerry Cooney could not do in their 1982 megsfight. There have only been thirty one lineal heavyweight boxing champions in the last one hundred years. As of 2019,the current lineal heavyweight champion is Tyson Fury.
