Becoming WARHORSE

He made his professional wrestling debut as Jake Parnell in March of 2013.

One of his first matches was in Illinois with Dynamo Pro Wrestling against Alexandre Rudolph on March 5, 2013. The event took place in Glen Carbon, Illinois at The Sports Academy. That same month Parnell participated in a Triple Threat match against Dave Vaughn and Brandon Gallagher.[16]

From Viking to WARHORSE

Parnell was originally a member of the Viking War Party, a group of Viking wrestlers composed of Alexandre Rudolph and Frank Wyatt. The team was active from Parnell's debut in 2013 to 2016. Parnell was known as The Little Viking.[20]

In 2019 Jake Parnell, inspired by his love of heavy metal music and 1980s wrestling icons like The Road Warriors and Sting, reinvented himself as WARHORSE, a very metal misfit with face paint that likes to headbang, yell, and 'Rule Ass'.[47][48][52]

Becoming WARHORSE

On February 6, 2020 a mini documentary was released titled Becoming Warhorse. The film is directed by Kenny Johnson and takes a look into the making of the WARHORSE persona. In the documentary the wrestler discusses his motivation to be his own character stating, [29]

"I was reading this book by KISS, and essentially, they talked about how they did everything different. They wanted to be the band they never got to see, and they love comic books and horror movies and all those things, so I thought 'Okay, I love heavy metal. I love 80's style wrestling, I love the big over-the-top personalities.' And if you listen to most of the old-school vets, they'll tell you that a character will get you farther than anything else."

Notable Wins

Over his career WARHORSE has held championship belts that include the SNPW Tag Team, ZERO1 USA World Tag Team, ZERO1 USA World Junior Heavyweight, and the ZERO1 USA Supreme Heavyweight title.[18]

On September 21, 2019 WARHORSE was crowned the IWTV (Independent Wrestling.tv) Champion after defeating Erick Stevens. WARHORSE is the active title holder as of February 2020.[17]

Notable Matches

Last Man Standing 2018

Under the Zero1 USA wrestling promotion, he competed in a very metal Last Man Standing match against Gary Jay. The match took place in January 2018 and resulted in a turnbuckle being removed from the corner post and used as a fish hook in Parnell's mouth, splitting his mouth open. In WARHORSE fashion, Parnell finished the match and received over 20 stitches.[22]

WARHAUSEN

Alongside fellow wrestler Danhausen, WARHORSE is a member of the tag team duo WARHAUSEN. They weigh in at a combined 666 pounds and are the epitome of 'lawful evil and chaotic good.'[15][33]

Wrestlevania

WARHAUSEN also host an annual horror themed wrestling show called Wrestlevania, presented by Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).

The event will be held in Tampa, Florida at The Cuban Club on Saturday, April 4, 2020.

Wrestlers including Allie Kat (Allie Bat), AJ Gray, Effy, and Jake Something will be at Wrestlevania. Matches include a Vampire Death Match and a Loser Gets Sacrificed To Satan match.[41]

In a January 2020 interview with Wrestling Inc., Danhausen discussed the birth of Wrestlevania,[46]

"WARHORSE came to me and said, 'Hey I wanna do a show called WrestleVania at some point.' Then we got presented with the idea to actually do it out of nowhere almost.

We already had the name a week prior and when they [approached us], we were like, 'Yeah that's cool and we already have a name for it.' We're trying to make our show stand out and we have some stuff that we're working out with it to see if it will go through.

But it's gonna be heavy metal-based and horror movie, spooky, fun comedy.

It will be bizarre."

In an Ask Me Anything, Rhodes was asked the question of what indie wrestlers he was interested in, the statement read,[56]

"He has to ask Ethan Page about Danhausen and says both those guys are DIY guys he wants. Notes Ethan is with Impact and he wanted him. Says he’ll look at WARHORSE soon."

#CODYFEARSWARHORSE

"Try this one on...how 'bout that WARHORSE kid?"

AEW Dynamite
