Career
From 2006 to 2009, Wajahat Ali was an Associate editor of Altmuslim. From 2006 to 2010, he was a founder and editor of the popular Goatmilk blog that was ranked in the top 7% of all political blogs by blogged.com. From 2005 to 2011, Wajahat was a Playwright, Co-Producer, Marketing Manager and Assistant director of one of the first major plays about the Muslim American experience which premiered in 2005 at the Thrust stage of the award winning Berkeley Repertory Theater and broke box office records during its historic New York, Off-Broadway run at the Nuyorican Poets Café in Fall 2009. In 2011, he served as a Researcher and Writer at Center for American Progress and Co-Editor of "All American: 45 Men on Being Muslim". These years he also worked as a solo Attorney.
From 2013 to 2015, Wajahat worked at Al Jazeera Media Network as a Co-host, Digital Producer and National Correspondent and Political Reporter of Al Jazeera America. From 2015 to 2017, he served as a Creative director of Affinis Labs, an award-winning social innovation firm that helps clients creatively tackle complex global challenges through entrepreneurship. Currently, Wajahat is a Contributing Writer of The New York Times and The Huffington Post.
