Vy Higginsen is a writer, director, producer, host and radio personality.
Higginsen began sparking attention when she became the first black radio personality in New York City.
A Harlem native, she went on to host a radio show in New York City and work for Ebony Magazine.
Higginsen also took on theatre when she went on to write, produce and direct Mama, I Want To Sing, the longest running Off-Broadway musical in history.
She later became the first black woman to produce a drama on Broadway when she produced Joe Tuner's Come and Gone.
