VR Menswear was founded in 1988 as a diffusion line of Vila Romana, a confection of retail markets that more than a half century ago produced male casual clothes.

At the beginning, the VR Menswear was just a franchise store in rua Oscar Reira, who had been giving visibility to the Vila Romana, in a process of expansion of the market.

Two years later, the VR Menswear had ten shops.
