Voto Latino

Voto Latino is an identity-based activism group that seeks to empower and engage Latinos in the civic process as well as provide resources that aid Latinos seeking to further their career.

It was co-founded by Rosario Dawson and is currently headed by President Maria Teresa Kumar.

[0] According to the "about us" section of votolatino.org the mission statement of the organization is the following: "Voto Latino is a pioneering civic media organization that seeks to transform America by recognizing Latinos’ innate leadership.

Through innovative digital campaigns, pop culture, and grassroots voices, we provide culturally relevant programs that engage, educate and empower Latinos to be agents of change.

Together, we aim to build a stronger and more inclusive democracy."

[0] The Voto Latino work flow consists of a 3 part pipeline: [1] First, education on current, relevant issues piques the interest of potential new voters.

Second, leadership programs prepare younger members of the community to become future leaders and advocates.

Third and finally, voter outreach programs that encourage those who have been educated on the issues to register and vote.
