Virginia Black is an American whiskey, more specifically a Bourbon whiskey developed by rap superstar Drake and DeLeón Tequila founder, Brent Hocking. The motto of the brand is "Decadent American Whiskey." ^{[16] [18]}

The whiskey has a 40% alcohol content or 90 proof giving it a smoother and sweeter taste than most whiskeys on the market. ^[2]

Virginia Black is made of a blend of two-year, three-year and four-year bourbons produced by the distillery, MGP of Indiana. ^[18]

Brent Hocking and Drake chose the name Virginia Black, despite the whiskey being produced in Indiana because according to Brent, “The name is just to evoke kind of a sense of glamour,” says Hocking. “It’s just a sexy name.” ^[18]
