Early Life
Vanessa Medina was born and raised in Miami, Florida, United States. She is an American National.
Education
Vanessa Medina completed her schooling from Miami.
She went to Florida International University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication and Journalism in 1999. She also studied Communications at the University of Miami in 2002. She has developed skills in Broadcast journalism and also in covering breaking news on the media.[2][13]
Career
Vanessa Medina has worked in different positions from an Associate Producer to news anchor at many news stations in her career.
she has covered many stories from traffic accident to a school board issue.[15] She was always looked sharp during her assignments.
She's termed as best-dressed reporter on local television.[6]
She started her career as at WSVN Channel 7 in 1999 as an Associate Producer while studying at University of Miami. She worked for 9 months and gained lot of experience. She joined WFOR-TV CBS News in Fort Laurderdale Area, Miami in February 2000 and served there as an Associate Producer for 21 months. She also worked as News Reporter at WSBT-TV for two years in South Bend, Indiana. She gained press attentions while working at WSBT-TV for best Investigative story after pushing and exposing loopholes in school records.[2]
She left WSBT -TV in 2003 and worked as a Freelance News Reporter for Chicagoland Television for an year.She then joined CBS affiliate WKMG-TV (also known as WCPX-TV), Orlando, Florida in 2004 as a reporter and worked there for two years. She was promoted as a Fill in News Anchor for Post News Week in 2006. She left WKMG in late 2006 and returned to WSVN in early 2007 as a General Assignment Reporter. She is working at 7News over 13 years now. [1]
