Valeriia Karaman (born August 15, 1994) is an international model, artist, and actress. She appeared as the siren mermaid in the 2019 fantasy thriller film The Lighthouse.^[31]

She was born in Bendery, Moldova on August 15, 1994.^[1]

Karaman is also an artist who's into paintings.

She has an Instagram account dedicated to her art called "Valkarart", which showcases many oil and acrylic pieces that are surreal and textured, with a focus on aliens. She is currently located in Kiev, but travels constantly.^[29][30]

As an international model, Karaman is seen in locations all around the globe sporting off brands such as ELLE and Emporio Armani.

She is signed to a variety of talent agencies, including Premium, a French modeling agency that eventually landed Valeriia a gig in 2018 for a Diesel advertising campaign. She appeared in the January 22, 2018 video called 'Diesel-Keep World Flawed' and also showcases her modeling talents on a second Diesel promotion video titled 'Go with the Flaw', which emphasized the many physical flaws humans have.^[22][23][39]

Valeriia made her cinematic debut in the 2019 film The Lighthouse, a black and white fantasy thriller written by Max and Robert Eggers. The film's cast is very minimalistic, but powerful, starring Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson. Karaman plays the part of a siren mermaid that calls out to Pattinson and reveals herself to him on the rocks.^[24]

Valeriia is also in a techno punk band called Cullet. The band has been active on Soundcloud since December of 2019 and have a couple songs on the platform. The band also has an Instagram account that has been active since November 2019.^[41][42]

On Instagram Valeriia goes by the handle @valeriiakaraman and has a following of over 62,400 as of April 2020. On the platform, Karaman can be seen in various locations around the globe modeling for popular brands. She first started modeling on Instagram in 2012.^[29]

Valeriia's astrological sign is Leo. She has two tattoos, a dragon on her shoulder which was inked by Vlad Old Nyc, and a medieval-style mermaid on her waist, done by tattoo artist Marina Siridova-AKA-Krasivity.^[21]
