Valerie Jean Boolootian(born May 13, 1955) is one of the top female casting directors, producers and owner of Blue Ravens Films.
[1] She has been a casting director in many TV shows and movies, including Chasing Shakespeare, Dark Haul and The 11th Hour.
Early Life and Education
Valerie was born in Fresno, California, USA in a big Armenian family. In California Junior Miss Competition, she was chosen as one of the top ten finalists. She completed her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from California State University-Long Beach in the fields of Film, Radio and Television study from 1975-1978. She studied Theatre from University of Hawaii at Manoa. [2]
Career
Her career started before her graduation from California State University Long Beach, where she was promotions director of KSUL, which is the on site FCC Regulated Radio Station.
Later, she she worked as a Director of Casting at Universal Studios for 8. She produced shoes couple of time every year for the industry. After that, she became Vice President of casting at new line cinema and continued there for six years. She was passionate about teaching drama to the children and continued doing it for three and a half years. She presently casts television series, movies and animated films. She is also the president of McCaffrey Talent Management company since April 2004 and owner of Blue Raven Films since May 2001. [1] [3]
