Tyson Mayr (born August 9, 1985) is an Australian Travel Personality, TV Host, Film Maker & Content creator. He has documented over 80 countries through his blog, 'The Naked Traveller' & is also the global ambassador for clean water non-profit 'RainCatcher', installing hundreds of water filters around the world while he travels.
Early Life
Tyson Mayr was born on August 9, 1985 in Gold Coast, Australia. Tyson had previously worked for a business in Australia. In 2009, he quit, and sold his possessions, to travel the world.[1]
Career
Tyson Mayr left Australia for the first time in his life in 2009. Within a year, he had visited 28 countries across six continents without spending more than $10,000. Since then, Tyson has visited nearly 60 countries.
In 2014 Tyson was considered a front runner in the Cleo Bachelor of the Year.
Creating significant international buzz with his travel videos, Tyson has been approached by a number of major networks and production companies to develop a television series based on his travels such as his “Bucket List” project, where he helps travel passionate disabled people tick off their bucket list items
In 2015, Tyson was successfully cast in the first season of Network Ten’s highly successful reality series, I’m a Celebrity,Get Me Out of Here. He made it to the finals after surviving for five weeks competing in a series of trials and challenges.
Tyson’s profile was lifted to another level last year when he won “The Best Job in the World” competition.
Beating 3,000 entrants from 99 countries around the world, Tyson was awarded the title of Chief World Explorer and winner of the Best Job in the World. As an international host and ambassador for US travel company Jauntaroo, Tyson was paid a salary and travel to 50 destinations around the world, sharing his experiences via online episodes and airline in-flight entertainment to millions of people.
As an International Model, Tyson has featured in many international campaigns around the world for brands such as Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, Heineken, Asics and Billabong, to name a few
Tyson is a charity ambassador for RainCatcher, a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing clean drinking water to impoverished regions around the world. He carries and installs hundreds of water filters while he travels. Tyson organised his own charity fundraisers, which raise tens of thousands of dollars at a time through unorthodox, typically fitness-based challenges.[4][7]
