Tyriq Roberts was a 17-year-old from Tallahassee, Florida. He was recognized as being a student leader and a member of his high school's band. Roberts is remembered for being a driven individual who cared for others.

On December 26 at around 12:10 am, Tyriq was driving a silver Honda when a red Chevrolet pick-up truck ran a red light and collided with Tyriq's vehicle, forcing his vehicle into a third vehicle. The accident happened at the intersection of Tennessee Street and Appleyard Drive. Tyriq was declared dead at the scene. The two 19-year-old girls in the third vehicle were seriously injured. Deontae Johnson was the driver of the Toyota; him and another passenger fled the scene on foot. Police are investigating the incident. Johnson is still on the run and has not been apprehended.

Tyriq was a member of "Rickards Raiders of Respect", a school organization that teaches male students how to be gentlemen and participated in the organization's monthly 'shirt and tie day.' His teachers remember him as being well-liked and respected by all of his peers.

His friends and classmates remember him as a positive person who was always full of life.
