Trinity Gay

Trinity Gay is a 15-year old girl from Lexington, Kentucky. Gay is the daughter of Olympian/World Champion, Tyson Gay.

Track Career

From middle school, Gay was a standout Track and field athlete. In middle school, Gay was the runner up in the 100m and placed in the top 4 numerous times at her state meet, she was also the Region 6 in the 200m. As a seventh-grader, Gay competed for her high school --Scott County High School-- winning the 100-meter dash, the 4-by-100, and the 4-by-200 relays. [1]

Death

On October 16th at around 4 a.m, Gay was shot and killed outside of a Cook-Out in Lexington. According to police, two cars -- a gray Dodge Charger and a dark-colored sports car with tinted windows -- exchanged gunfire and Gay was caught in the crossfire. Following the shooting, Gay was rushed to the hospital but died at 5 a.m to injuries. Since the shooting, police have found the driver of the Gray Charger but are still searching for the other shooter.

Trinity was out with friends at the restaurant and was not involved in the shootout as she was not inside either car when the shooting spree took place.
