Tony Spribille is a biologist.
He has done pioneering work in the study of lichen s. Long believed to be a symbiotic organism resulting from the interaction of two species, his research revealed that a third organism is also critical. Tony grew up in a fundamentalist religious community.
Pursuing his interest in plants he began working in forestry.
He was able to pursue university studies thanks to the University of Gottingen.
German universities are tuition free and the University of Gottingen was willing to overlook his incomplete transcriots and academic records to give him a chance.
