Tony Cross was an American Motion capture Animator from Texas known for being a magnificent conversationalist, a true adventurer, and above all, an outstanding friend. He is also tragically known for being one of the nine people who were murdered at the residence of Meredith Lane Hight. [1]
Biography
Early Life
Born and raised in the state of Texas, he grew up in the city of Austin. Many of his childhood friends remember Tony for being an amicable individual with immense talent for detail when it came to Animation.
Education
After high school, he attended University of Texas Dallas where he graduated with a degree in Arts and Technology. [1]
Career
After college, Tony transitioned into a professional immediately in the arts and technology industry by securing a job with Motus Digital LLC.
He worked there the rest of his life as a motion capture animator.
Death
On September 10, 2017, he was invited for the viewing of the Dallas cowboy Vs. New York Giants at the house of Meredith Lane Hight in West Spring Creek Parkway. [8] He and eight others, including Meredith, were murdered at the hands of Spencer Hight.
The first officer who arrived also reported hearing gunshots.
When the officer entered the home, he confronted Hight, who was still armed.
The officer opened fire, killing Hight.
Personal Life
Tony was a man of many interests that are adventurous and also calm and inviting for others around him.
He was known as a person whose heart is a size bigger than his beard.
Indeed, Tony was known for his beards also.
Activities
He enjoyed the company of friends whether it was a BBQ or off-road racing, many o his friends remember him as being a fun guy to hangout with.
Tony was also an avid video game player.
His favorite games were XCOM: Enemy Unknown (4,295 hours on record) and XCOM 2 (1,168 hours on record) - he loved the "Long War" mod and could talk about it for hours.
He also enjoyed concerts and one of the last artists he had seen live was Rammstein.
Besides video games and off -road vehicle adventures, he also enjoyed weight lifting, and one of his favorite body builders was CT Fletcher.
He also enjoyed Krav Maga, and was a dedicated practitioner.
He loved the show, Rick and Morty.
