Todd Christopher Kohlhepp (born March 7, 1971) is an American registered sex offender, kidnapper, and serial killer ^[22]from Woodruff, South Carolina who raped a 14 year old at gunpoint when he was 15 years old. ^[19]He spent 15 years in prison before his 2001 release. He was arrested again on November 3, 2016 in connection to the abduction and kidnapping of Kala Brown who was found chained up inside a storage container on his property. ^{[6] [3]}

On November 3, 2016, Kala Brown, who was missing since August 2016, was found alive but chained like a dog in a metal container on Kohlhepp's property in Woodruff, South Carolina. ^{[3] [6]}

Authorities believe the case could be a serial killer one, and there could be as many as four bodies on the property. ^[3]

Kala Brown's boyfriend, Charles Carver was missing ^{[3] [6]}until authorities found his body on Kohlhepp's property on November 4, 2016. ^{[6] [3]}

Carver was shot several times before being buried in a shallow grave.

^[3]On November 5, 2016, Kohlhepp confessed to authorities that he committed the 2003 quadruple murders at Superbike Motorsports in Chesnee Chesnee, South Carolina. ^[22]

Kohlhepp served 14 years in jail for raping a 14-year-old girl at gunpoint in 1986, when he was 15. ^[13] He lured the girl outside by telling her an ex-boyfriend wanted to talk to her. ^{[13] [15]}

When the two were outside, he then pointed a small blue steel handgun at her head and told her to walk down the alley towards his house. ^{[13] [15]}

Once they got into Kohlhepp's bedroom, he duct taped her mouth, tied her hands together, and, removed her clothes, then his clothes and forced the victim to have sexual intercourse with him. ^{[13] [15]}

Kohlhepp pleaded guilty to kidnapping in the case and was added to the sex offender registry in Arizona. He remained behind bars from 1987 to 2001. ^{[13] [15]}

Two years after his release, Kohlhepp murdered four people in Chesnee, South Carolina according to a confession he gave to investigators on November 5, 2016. ^{[15] [13]}

Scott Ponder, his mother Beverly Guy, service manager Brian Lucas, and mechanic Chris Sherbert were found fatally shot at the Superbike Motorsports shop on November 6, 2003.

Kohlhepp currently faces four counts of Murder and a single kidnapping charge. He is expected to face more charges and is the suspect of three other unsolved murder cases. ^{[15] [22] [13]}

Kohlhepp studied at Central Arizona College while incarcerated, including computer science in 2001, according to his LinkedIn. ^[11]Kohlhepp studied Business administration and marketing at the University of South Carolina Upstate, graduating in 2007. ^[6]According to his LinkedIn, while in school, Kohlhepp was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society as well as the Sigma Alpha Lambda Leadership and Honor Society. ^[11]

Prior to his arrest, he worked as a real estate broker. ^[11]He is the owner of TKA Real Estate. ^[11]

Kohlhepp's father told court officials the only emotion the teen was capable of showing was anger and a neighbor called him a devil on a chain. ^[19]

He was admitted to the Georgia Mental Health Institute in 1980 because of his hostile and aggressive behavior. ^[15]Kohlhepp also had problems in the classroom. ^[15]

Court documents mention an evaluation performed by Spartanburg County School District 2 in 1982 when Kohlhepp was a student there. ^[15]The evaluation stated Kohlhepp talked out in class, destroyed material, had temper outbursts and was defiant.

The evaluation said his intelligence appeared to be in the gifted range but that he had pronounced emotional difficulties. ^[15]

Kohlhepp did not have much of a relationship with his biological father until he went to live with him in the 1980s. ^[15]His mother had re-married and there were also issues with his stepfather. ^[15]

During the investigation of the killings and kidnapping of Kala Brown, investigators found an Amazon.com account linked to Kohlhepp under the name "me".

Under the username, Kohlhepp left chilling and graphic reviews of products he may have used in his murders.
