Todd Christopher Kohlhepp (born March 7, 1971) is an American registered sex offender, kidnapper, and serial killer [22]from Woodruff, South Carolina who raped a 14 year old at gunpoint when he was 15 years old. [19]He spent 15 years in prison before his 2001 release. He was arrested again on November 3, 2016 in connection to the abduction and kidnapping of Kala Brown who was found chained up inside a storage container on his property. [6] [3]
Kidnapping of Kala Brown and Killings
On November 3, 2016, Kala Brown, who was missing since August 2016, was found alive but chained like a dog in a metal container on Kohlhepp's property in Woodruff, South Carolina. [3] [6]
Authorities believe the case could be a serial killer one, and there could be as many as four bodies on the property. [3]
Kala Brown's boyfriend, Charles Carver was missing [3] [6]until authorities found his body on Kohlhepp's property on November 4, 2016. [6] [3]
Criminal History
Once they got into Kohlhepp's bedroom, he duct taped her mouth, tied her hands together, and, removed her clothes, then his clothes and forced the victim to have sexual intercourse with him. [13] [15]
Kohlhepp pleaded guilty to kidnapping in the case and was added to the sex offender registry in Arizona. He remained behind bars from 1987 to 2001. [13] [15]
Kohlhepp currently faces four counts of Murder and a single kidnapping charge. He is expected to face more charges and is the suspect of three other unsolved murder cases. [15] [22] [13]

Kohlhepp studied at Central Arizona College while incarcerated, including computer science in 2001, according to his LinkedIn. Personal Life
Court documents mention an evaluation performed by Spartanburg County School District 2 in 1982 when Kohlhepp was a student there. [15]The evaluation stated Kohlhepp talked out in class, destroyed material, had temper outbursts and was defiant.
The evaluation said his intelligence appeared to be in the gifted range but that he had pronounced emotional difficulties. [15]
