Timothy Piazza was an athlete, playing football and running track in high school, at Hunterdon Central Regional High School. ^[5]

Timothy was studying Engineering. He was a member of a dance marathon group on campus. ^[2]

Death

Timothy Piazza died as a result of Alcohol-related Hazing. He was a pledge at Beta Theta Pi. ^[7]

Timothy fell down 15 feet of stairs, with a dangerous Blood alcohol level of.36%. ^[7]

This led to Timothy becoming unconscious.

Surveillance footage showed the brothers attempting to prop him up on a couch.

Over the course of the night, Timothy attempted to get up several times, repeatedly hitting his head on the floor and on Banisters. ^[7]The pledge master allegedly slapped Piazza three times in the face. He was also punched in the stomach in an attempt to wake him up. ^[7]

On March 30 of 2017, Beta Theta Pi's Penn State chapter was shut down following Timothy's death. ^[0]Eighteen members of the fraternity were charged with Manslaughter over Timothy's death. ^[7]

One of the brothers, Kordel Davis, wanted to call the police, but was mocked and laughed at.

His brothers said he was simply overreacting.

Twelve hours later, they finally called for an Ambulance. Davis later told the grand jury that Piazza looked 'horrible' and when he wanted to call for help he was quickly told to leave and shoved against a wall as the others said they had the situation under control. ^[7]
