T.I Irving Plaza Concert Shooting
A 33 year old Ronald McPhatter was killed and three others were wounded in a shooting at T.I.
concert at Irving Plaza in Manhattan, New York on the night of Wednesday May 25, 2016. Three
men and one woman were injured. The
club was filled with about 1,000 people before the shooting. [0]
During the concert there were two fights one backstage that spilled onto the stage and another on the floor of the club.
Concert goers heard four shots after a few seconds after the second fight.
The shooting happened in a third-floor green room of the building at 10:15 pm before T.I.
started his performance. The
shooting happened while rappers Maino and Uncle Murda were on stage. [0]
Three people, two of whom were initially listed in critical condition, were taken by ambulance to Beth Israel hospital, officials said.
Shooter
Rapper Troy Ave was behind the shooting, He shot five bullets killing his friend Ronald McPhatter and wounding two others.
He also shot himself in the leg during the shooting and was treated at NYU Langone Medical Center.
Troy Ave had feuding with fellow Brooklyn, New York Maino who was performing during the shooting.
Troy Ave was charged with attempted murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
He is expected to face a murder charge pending the results of a ballstics test.
