The Young Avenger (小毒龍) a.k.a. Little Poisonous Dragon is a 1972 Hong Kong wuxia film directed by Yueh Feng. The film was produced by Runme Shaw for Shaw Brothers and is based on the screenplay by Yueh Feng and Pao Hu.^[2]^[3]

Plot overview

Li Bao Zhu's father is visited by an old enemy, the hunchback Liu Tuo.

They fight and Li Bao Zhu's father is killed.

Bound by the obligation to avenge her father, Li Bao Zhu trains with the Mad Monk and learns the Poisonous Dragon sword fighting technique. She teams up with her cousin Chen Shi Lun to seek out and destroy the hunchback Liu Tuo and all his thugs.

Production and release

The Young Avenger was shot on 35mm color film with a mono audio soundtrack featuring Mandarin dialogue. The Shawscope cinematographic process was used in production and the film's total runtime is 82 minutes. The film premiered on 20 April 1972 in Hong Kong.^[4]
