THE SOUR ^[1] The simple Whiskey or Gin Sour is a not-so-blank canvas, excellent on its own but also suitable for endless modifications, as seen in drinks ranging from the Corpse Reviver #2 to the Margarita and the Sidecar.

By the time 1910 rolled around, many of the definitive drinks in mixology were already old hat.

THE SOUR is an iconic drink that was popular before our 100 year cutoff, that continue to influence what we put in our glasses.

2 oz Bourbon

3/4 oz Fresh lemon juice

1/2 oz Simple syrup

1/2 oz Egg white (optional)

Garnish: Angostura bitters

Glass: Coupe

Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.

Strain into a coupe.

Garnish with 3 dashes of Angostura bitters.
