Thanapat Thaothawong, better known asThaiboy Digital, is a Thai-Swedish rapper. He is closely associated with Yung Lean and Sad Boys and is one of the founders of the music group Drain Gang. [undefined]
Biography
Early Life
Thanapat was born in Thailand. His mother is half-black. When he was 8-years-old, his mother got a job in the kitchen at the Austrian embassy in Stockholm, forcing him to move there. Thanapat is a native speaker of Thai but would become fluent in English and Swedish over time. [undefined]
Music Career

It was while he moved to Sweden that he was exposed to hip-hop for the first time through media outlets such as MTV.
The first rap song he had ever heard was "In da Club" by 50 Cent. Thanapat would take on the moniker Thaiboy Digital, a name he thought of while thinking of words to rhyme with "white widow." He cites Young Thug, Future, and Soulja Boy as influences and much of Thaiboy's music would be marked by his use of auto-tune. [undefined]
In addition, he would also become a member of “Drain Gang” aka Gravity Boys aka Shield Gang (GTBSG) which is made up of Yung Sherman, ECCO2K, Bladee, and Whitearmor. Before Drain Gang, the crew Thaiboy was apart of called themselves Smög Boys and they would party and perform small shows together. [undefined]
The crew would meet Yung Lean through friends of friends and would start opening up shows for him.
Thaiboy would work closely musically with Yung Lean his Sad Boys crew and would release songs together such as "Diamonds."
Thaiboy has since actively toured Europe and the United States with Yung Lean and company.
Immigration Troubles
When Thaiboy turned 18, he received a call from Swedish immigration informing him that he was no longer under the protection of his mother's work visa and was told he had to leave the country.
Within hours of hearing the news, Yung Lean started an online petition to fight Thaiboy's deportation but to no avail.
He would move back to his mother's home of Phuket where he would plan his return. [undefined]
Post-Sweden
While in Thailand, Thaiboy was contacted by musician Younggu who invited him to Bangkok. In Bangkok, he was also introduced to another rapper, Rahboy. Thaiboy would set up shop in Bangkok for the time being and create music alongside his new collaborators. Thaiboy is actively seeking a Swedish work visa. [undefined]
