TelAbortion is a research project that aims to evaluate the use of telemedicine for providing a medical abortion to women who have difficulty getting to an abortion clinic. [1]

Process

After consulting with an abortion provider by videoconference, qualifying participants are sent the necessary abortion medicines by mail. Currently, only women living in the states of Hawaii, Oregon, Washington, New York, and Maine are eligible to participate in the study. [1]

In the Media

In March 2019, TelAbortion and a 24-year-old woman going through the process was profiled in The New Yorker. [2]
