Tedra King was a 13-year-old who lived in Florida City, Florida. ^[undefined]

Tedra grew up in Miami-Dade county and attended Homestead Middle School. ^[1] Her friends and family often referred to her by her nickname, Rosie. In her free time, she enjoyed hanging out with friends and family. Tedra is remembered for her contagious smile and kindness toward other people.

On the evening of April 25th, Tedra was at her brother, Martaevious Santiago's, birthday party and they were playing around.

^[1] Santiago got his hands on a gun from a 14-year-old and pulled the trigger as Tedra walked away from him.

loaded and shot Tedra in the head.

Attempts to revive her from paramedics failed and she died at the scene.

^[undefined] The incident happened at her home on Northwest 16th Street in Florida City.

^[1] Santiago has been charged with aggravated manslaughter and possession of a weapon during a felony.
