Taylor P. Lorenz is a Technology reporter with The New York Times. She is also a Research Affiliate at Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. Previously, she was a tech reporter for the Daily Beast where she explored how the use of technology influences people's daily life.^[9]

Taylor Lorenz attended University of Colorado Boulder. ^[9] In 2012, she received her certificate in web development from New York University.

Lorenz was also a 2019 Knight Visiting Nieman Fellow at Harvard University where her research focused on Instagram news consumption. She is an affiliate at Harvard's Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. ^[9]

As a late teenager, she interned for places such as Donna Karen, Nanette Lapore, Yves Saint Laurent, and Harper's Bazaar.

In 2011, after graduating from college, she became the Community manager behind FabFitFun for approximately 1 year. ^[9]

She was the Senior Editor and Director of Emerging Platforms for The Hill and the Director of Strategy and Partnerships at mental_floss. She was previously a reporter at Business Insider, The Atlantic and The Daily Beast.^[9]

Taylor has done extensive reporting on the 2016 Presidential Election, including reporting on the candidates' use of Snapchat. ^[11]

Taylor was previously an Editorial and Audience Growth Lead at People Magazine and Entertainment Weekly where she launched INSTANT, a new distributed media brand backed by Time Inc. She was also Global Head of Social media and Emerging Platforms at the Daily Mail.

On August 12th, 2017, while covering the protests that took place at the Unite the Right rally and the counter protests that followed, Lorenz was physically assaulted. The perpetrator was charged with battery and assault.
