Early Life
Taylor James was born on 26th January 1980 in Sevenoaks, Kent, England. Between the years of 1980-1986, he lived with his family in South Africa, before returning back to the United Kingdom for schooling.
Taylor attended secondary School in Northamptonshire from 1991-1997 before completing 2 years at Northampton College in Sevenoaks, England studying performing arts.
Thanks to his talent, Taylor received a scholarship to attend the London Studio Center in 2000, so he spent the next three years there.

Career
In 2000 Taylor was awarded a scholarship at the London Studio Center, where he studied for a further 3 years.
After graduation, Taylor began his career on the stage, performing in many of London's West end musical productions, Guys and Dolls, Mamma Mia, and Footloose (musical). Taylor starred in 2007 in his first feature film, Mamma Mia for Universal.
The film is directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and is an adaptation of the 1999 musical of the same name written by Catherine Johnson and based on ABBA’s songs. By the end of the decade, he had also guest-starred in such TV series as “The L Word” and “Material Girl”, and played Felix Fairfax in the short drama “Faith Alone” in 2009. Moreover, he continued to perform on stage, starring in such productions as “Danton’s Death” and “Duchess Of Malfi”, etc.
In 2008 Taylor continued his work on the stage with Piaf, Danton's Death, Little dog laughed, Duchess of Malfi and more recently The Winters Tale and Romeo and Juliet for Sir Kenneth Branagh's theatre company.
He is also well known for his reoccurring role in the Vanquis commercials which is a tongue in cheek homage to Game of Thrones.
In 2011, Taylor landed a small role as a gym assistant in Elliott Lester’s action crime drama film “Blitz”, after which he guest-starred as Marvin in an episode of the TV comedy series “Sirens”, and played a young actor in the comedy film “The Power Of Three”, directed by Yvonne Deutschman.
In 2012, he guest-starred in an episode of the science fiction comedy series “Red Dwarf”, aired on the Dave network, and then featured as a centurion in the 2014 made-for-television short film “Howard’s Happy Place”.
In 2018, he won the title role in the action drama film “ ”, starring next to Jackson Rathbone and Billy Zane. It is announced that he will featured as Troll in the upcoming adventure fantasy film “Artemis Fowl”, which is currently under post-production.
