Dr. Rendon hailed from Palm Springs, California. She was a graduate student at Texas A & M University, obtained her BA in psychology in 2006, and an MA in Experimental Psychology in 2008 from California State University, San Marcos. [undefined]

She moved to Houston in 2008 and worked with low income special needs individuals and their families.
Her research interests included multicultural psychology and mental health disparities among Mexican immigrant males.
Her long term goals were to help create mental health awareness in low income communities and to conduct multicultural research.
Death
On March 12, 2018, Scott Caruso allegedly shot and killed Tania at an apartment complex in the 1800 block of Broadway Street.
