Taliyah Marsman is a five-year-old from Calgary, Alberta. ^[undefined]

On July 12, 2016, Marsman was reported missing after her mother, Sarah Baillie was discovered dead in their home. According to police, they were called to the Calgary home of the Marsman after Baillie did not show up to work earlier in the day and family members could not locate her at her home. Authorities state that Marsman is mixed race, with a slim build, brown curly hair and blue eyes, but are unsure of when she went missing and what she was wearing. Providing more details, Don Coleman of the Calgary Police Service stated, "We're not ruling out any possibilities, including that she may be in the care of somebody right now and been dropped off and that person or those people may not know what’s transpired. ^[1]

Death

Around 9:00 AM on July 15th, 2016, Taliyah was found dead "beside a field".

An autopsy is being performed to determine how Taliyah was murdered.

She was only 5 years old at the time of her death, and the suspect, Edward Delten Downey, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
