Tahir Abbas (born 04/03/1994) is a rising star, brand ambassador of Folk music and his native language. He is also renowned for creating waves on the music scene with his famous Punjabi track “Rusya Na Kar” through the platform of Bizz Music. The song has trended on YouTube in the subcontinent for almost a month with nearly 50 million views and more than 10 million postings on Whatsapp, Instagram and other social networking sites in the form of statuses. Likewise, most of his songs always create a buzz not only in Pakistan but also in neighbouring India who couldn’t help sway to his folk tune.^[25]

He grew up in Luddan, a small town near Vehari Punjab. He did his Masters in Philosophy of Art from the University of the Punjab. Tahir Abbas started proper music learning at Karachi Arts Council in 2009. After completing his bachelor in International relations, Sociology and Economics from the University of Karachi in 2011, Tahir Abbas moved to Lahore in the persuasion of his dreams.

Tahir Abbas released his first video of the Punjabi parody song “Chak De Phattey” written by one-and-only Dr. Younus Butt, which broke the internet as it garnered millions of views within no time.

Tahir Abbas released from India his first original single song “Dhola”- a mixture of old folk and modern music.^[9]

Tahir Abbas has certainly created waves on the music scene with his famous Punjabi song “Rusya Na Kar” with a new singer Rafeel Ijaz through the platform of Bizz Music, a joint venture of CEO Sofia Nazir and himself as MD. His cover song created quite a buzz not only in Pakistan but also in neighbouring India couldn’t help sway to his tune. The song has trended on YouTube in the subcontinent with nearly 200 million views overall.

Then Tahir Abbas released the album "Funk Folk '' The songs on this album were Motorway, Multan, Pyaar and Inkaar.

After the success of Funk Folk Tahir released his solo cover song named Zindagi.^{[4][5][6][9][8][30]}

Tahir also released a song for Pakistan Super League (PSL) named "Khelo Re". He has sung in four languages Sindhi, Pashto, Punjabi, and Balochi. It was the first time in the history of Pakistan that a song for PSL with four languages and cultural presentation. Recently Tahir has received Silver Button from YouTube.^[7]

Besides speaking Urdu and Punjabi, he loves speaking Pashto, Sindhi, Saraiki and English and can also speak a little bit of Wakhi and Burushaski.
