SynchroLife was founded in 2016 by CEO Tomochika Kamiya (founder of parent company GINKAN, inc ) and Hiroshi Mita (serial app developer ). The review platform operates off of Ethereum based smart contracts in an effort to incentivize trustworthy, accurate, and helpful restaurant reviews and recommendations. In doing so, SynchroLife will also be building a database of eating habits and taste profiles and with the help of machine learning they can deliver personalized recommendations to individual users.
In 2017 SynchroLife launched a beta version of the app in Japan, it was not yet tokenized, but it was highly gamified with experience points, titles, emblems, and other non-monetary rewards. Even without tokenization the app managed to bring in over 37,000 involved contributors. In June of 2017 SynchroLife released a beta version of the app in 4 languages (English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese) to 155 different countries and it has been downloaded over 100,000 times. In 2018 they joined Plug and Play Japan’s Batch 1 accelerator program.
