On Saturday February 16, 2018, Mize was arrested accused of formulating a plan to carjack her own father at gunpoint, with assistance from two other male teens. ^{[undefined] [1]}

The two males approached her father's red Nissan with Mize and her father inside near Rayford Road and used a gun to gain access to the car. ^{[undefined] [1]}

The suspects demanded the dad drive them to his home so they could obtain more money.

Once at the house, the dad, locked the door and called 911.

The male teens let Mize go and fled in the car before abandoning it and running into the woods.

One of them, a 16-year-old, was nabbed and the other is still at large.
