Sunny Verghese is a Business Executive and CEO of Olam International. ^[1] He is based out of Singapore.

Sunny holds a post graduate management degree from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) and has also completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP) from the Harvard Business School. Sunny was recognized as a Distinguished Alumni by IIMA in its Golden Jubilee Celebrations in 2011.

From 1986 to 1990, he served as a Project Manager in the Kewalram Chanrai Group in Nigeria, where he was given the mandate in 1989 to build an agricultural products export business for the Kewalram Chanrai Group which eventually became Olam; an agricultural products business. In 1990, he relocated to London to spearhead the expansion of Olam's activities. From 1990 to 1995, he served as the General Manager of Chanrai International Ltd. in London. In addition, he worked for Unilever in India. At Olam, Sunny is responsible for the strategic planning, business development and overall management for the Olam group of companies worldwide. In over 23 years, Verghese and his team have built the business to S$17.1 billion in sales revenue for 2012. Today, Olam operates in 65 countries, delivering 44 products (organized into 16 platforms) to more than 12,300 customers in 70 destination markets and employs over 18,000 people worldwide. ^[1]

Sunny was awarded the Best Chief Executive for large cap companies in the Singapore Corporate Awards (SCA) in July 2011.

He was also voted Best Executive in Singapore for 2006 and 2010 in the AsiaMoney Awards.

Sunny was named ‘Outstanding Chief Executive for 2006’ in the 2007 Singapore Business Awards (SBA) and Singapore’s Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in November 2008 and a member of the World Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Judging Panel in 2009. Sunny was conferred The Public Service Medal by the Government of Singapore in August 2010.
