Summer Bond ^[4], a senior honors student with multiple scholarships at Hickory Ridge High School, was recently suspended by a principle, who she allegedly had issues with in the past, because of a green shirt considered too risque by school policy. ^[1]

According to Summer, the principal, Michelle Cline, asked her to cover up.

She did not have a jacket at the time but got one from a friend.

This still did not please the principal who contacted her mother and had a SRO (School resource officer), that Summer claims had his hand on his gun, appear on the scene for backup. This altercation led Summer to be suspended and unable to walk in her graduation even though she is an A student. ^[2]

Summer's suspension could also cause her to loose already awarded scholarships.

The story caused outrage on social media prompting a letter writing campaign to help the honor student attend graduation.
