Ernest graduated from Denham Springs High School.

She was the daughter of Billy Ernest and sister of Tanner Ernest.^[0]

On Saturday January 26, 2019, Summer along with Billy and Tanner Ernest were allegedly shot and killed by her former lover Dakota Theriot.

Theriot is currently wanted on two counts of first-degree murder and one count each of illegal use of weapons and home invasion.
