Steven Nigg is a 60-year-old felon serving a prison sentence in Federal Correctional Institution, Englewood in Colorado. He is known for assaulting Jared Fogle in the prison courtyard

Higg is currently serving prison time for gun charges.

On January 29, 2016, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Steve Nigg assaulted Jared Fogle at the recreation yard where both were serving prison sentences.

^[undefined] According to an incident report, Nigga pushed Fogle to the ground and punched Fogle multiple times in the face.

^[undefined] Fogle was left with a bloody nose, scratched neck and swollen face following the attack.

Nigg unleashed his barrage after reaching his boiling point over the number of child sex predators housed in the low-security facility.

He was punished with a stint in solitary.

On assaulting Jared Fogle, Nigg told his family, "I did it for the victims and their families."

After the incident took place, Nigg wrote a letter expressing why he assaulted Jared Fogle.

In it, he writes:

You would not believe how arrogant Jared was.

He hired bodyguards and the other child molesters looked at him as if he was a god.

Nigg was relocated to an Oklahoma City correctional facility. ^[undefined]

Nigg is serving time on gun charges related to a decades-old crime spree through Arizona and armed robbery.

He was sentenced in 2011 to 15 years in prison for being a felon in the possession of a firearm with three previous convictions for a violent felony.

The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence.
