Stephanie Itzel Rivera Camarena was a Mexican Beauty queen who won Miss Earth Baja California in 2015. Her career ended in a fatal crash that took her life in November of 2017. ^[1]

Born and raised in Tijuana, Mexico, she lived in the area for many years of her life. She was also a frequent traveler to the United States.

She studied at the Autonomous University of Baja California, otherwise known as AUBC and graduated with a degree in Political science. She distinguished herself as a Global warming and Breast cancer Activist during her education.

Since she was a teenager, she was involved in modeling as well as beauty pageants.

In 2015, she won the Miss Earth Baja California.

In her participation of the pageants she was not shy about demonstrating her activism as she often spoke

about climate change and global warming.

At many of the events she also demonstrated support for causes related to Breast cancer.

On 2 a.m., Sunday, November 5th, 2017, Camarena was riding on the passenger side of a 2016 Lamborghini driven by Michael Llamas, an entrepreneur in the hemp cannabis company.

They were headed Northbound on North Bound Drive with the car going about 100 MPH.

According to reports, Llamas swerved, lost control of the vehicle, and crashed into a palm tree, causing the car to burst in flames.

At the time of the crash, Camarena had exited the car after the crash and tried to save herself.

She was found on the roadside lying on the street near the crash.

She was taken to the UCSD Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries just a

few days later.

Since her death was announced in the news, several pageants and organizations related to beauty competitions, including Miss Mexico, have shown their condolences on Social media. Friends and supporters of Camarena have also taken to social media to honor the late beauty queen.
