On January 1, 2017, Singh was stabbed repeatedly in the back by Vinny and left face-down in the couple’s Richmond Hill home on 103rd Ave. near 113th St. ^{[4] [5]}

A knife was found near her body when police arrived at around 2:00 p.m. local time. ^{[4] [5]}

Vinny then committed suicide in Forest Park, about 1 1/2 miles from the murder scene. He was found hanging from a tree in the park. ^{[4] [5]}
