Stacy Layne Matthews

Stacy Jones (better known Stacy Layne Matthews, born July 19, 1984) is the stage name of Stacy Jones, an American television personality, drag queen, and transgender activist. She is best known for competing on the third season of RuPaul's Drag Race and coining the phrase "henny" on the show.

Early Life

Stacy Layne Matthews was born Ron Matthew Jones. She later changed her name to Stacy Jones.

Jones did drag shows as early as 10 years old. The first time she dressed up in drag was with her cousin during Halloween. During her high school years, she experimented with different character looks. She did this while began doing theater and started experimenting with makeup.

On January 24, 2011, Stacy Layne Matthews was announced as one of the 13 contestants for Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was known on the show for her "poise, grace, and beauty, as well as her shy, endearing demeanor stemming from her rural background."

In Episode 5, she was placed in the bottom two and had to compete against India Ferrah in lip syncing contest to "Meeting in the Ladies Room" by Klymaxx.

In Episode 6, Matthews won the "Snatch Game" challenge with a portrayal of Mo'Nique.

In Episode 7, Matthews was eliminated after competing against Alexis Mateo in a drag performance to stay on the show. Stacy performed "Knock on Wood" by Amii Stewart.

In 2018, she made appearances on several episodes of Season 4 of RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars. She was a musical guest in Episode 2 for the main challenge, "Super Girl Groups, Henny." She then made a cameo in Episode 4 as the court stenographer for the main challenge "Jersey Justice."

Other TV Appearances

Aside from RuPaul's Drag Race, Stacy Layne Matthews has appeared on a Season 7 episode of Teen Mom OG.

Awards & Accomplishments

In 2013, Matthews was named Miss Illusion Continental Plus, a prelim to Miss Continental Plus.

Personal Life

Stacy Layne Matthews is of Native American heritage. She is of the Lumbee tribe.

Since appearing on RuPaul's Drag Race, Stacy has come out as a transgender woman.

She has around six or seven drag children.

One of her drag daughters is named Thundora Thighs
