St. Mary Dedication British International School was formally known as St. Mary Dedication Education Centre. The School was founded on January 7th, 1996. It is located in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria.

The school was founded by Dr. Marian Egbe Asakome who is also the president.

At inception, the school ran both nursery and primary sections based on the Montessori education system. In 2001, it expanded its operations to include a high school. The school has students from all over the world.

St. Mary Dedication British International School received a license from the British Council in 2004 to run the British school Curriculum. This giant stride made it possible for it to conduct examinations for A ‘level students who wished to undertake the General Certificate Examination and the Cambridge examinations.

This feat actually necessitated the change of name from St. Mary Dedication Education Centre to St. Mary Dedication British International School.^[5][6]
