Sparks Fly (Band)
Sparks Fly
were a Belfast based Indie Rock band active from 2007 - 2009
Biography
The band was formed by Indigo Fury frontman Rory Lavelle[3] and started gigging in late 2007 in and around Belfast.
In the Summer 2008 they were selected as finalists in the 2008 MusicQuest battle of the bands[4] and that same year they were selected to represent Northern Ireland at the 2008 Hardworking Class Heroes festival in Dublin[5]. The release of their first EP 'Save Some for Me' earned them radio play on local stations such as Feile FM [6] and BBC R1's new music show Across the Line [7], culminating with them appearing on national Radio 1 and performing a live session for Rory McConnell's show. In 2009 they were selected for the Northern Ireland leg of the IMRO Showcase Tour and released their first single 'Creatures' [2] which gained airplay on XFM, 6Music and Radio 2.
Sparks Fly disbanded in mid 2009.
