Sophia St.Amant
(Saint-Uh-Mount) grew up in Windsor and was an 8th-grade student at Severance Middle School in her 8th grade year. She
would often go by the nickname "Soso." In
her free time, she enjoyed gymnastics, golf, singing, dancing and hanging out with friends! She
shared a joyful ride with her bestfriends, Rylee, Honesty and of course her twin sister Madelyn. Sophia
is remembered for her contagious smile and for her kindness towards others.
Death
On the afternoon of April 1st around 4:55 pm, police responded to a call about an ATV accident at the 12000 block of Weld County Road 76, near Weld 27 about a mile northeast of Severance.
Sophia was riding her ATV with her friend and her twin sister in the area when they got into an accident.
A preliminary investigation suggests that the accident was a result of an accidental rollover of an embankment of the canal and rolled into the water.
Two of the girls were able to get out of the ditch but Sophia was could not.
Firefighters and paramedics extricated her and began CPR.
The three girls were taken to a local hospital where Sophia died from her injuries.
Visitation is happening at Mark's Funeral Chapel from 4:00-6:00 pm on April 6th followed by a funeral the next day at Timberline Church at 10:00 am.
