Songoro Cosongo

Songoro Cosongo

Sóngoro Cosongo is a book of poetry by the writer, journalist and Cuban political activist Nicolás Guillén. [1] Published after The motives of the son, this book consecrated him as a great poet. It was published in 1931.

It belongs to the mulatto poetry in which Guillén reworks rhythms, lexicon and expressive forms of Afro-Cuban speech and song.

His poems unite the poem with the rhythm of Cuban son.
