Snail Mail is an American Lo-fi"Suburban Slowcore"^[6]pop project of Singer-songwriter, Lindsey Jordan along with members Alex Bass and Ray Brown. ^[12]

After seeing Grouper perform a drone set, and later a rock concert of the Downtown Boys some time in the Spring of 2015, then 15 year-old Lindsey Jordan felt compelled to have a musical project as well. ^[3]

Lindsey recruited Alex and Ray and got all three began writing songs.

After two weeks of practicing, the band played their debut gig at a Maryland festival alongside punk bands Sheer Mag, Priests, and Screaming Females.

^[3]She was asked to play by Angie Swiecicki from Baltimore four-piece Post Pink.

The band Priests were impressed with the band so offered to release their music through their music label, Sister Polygon. ^{[3] [3]}

In 2015, the band released their first song through Bandcamp called, "Sticki". During this period, the band wrote many of the songs that would be in their first EP, Habit. ^[17]

Several publications such as The Fader and Pitchfork have described Lindsey's songwriting and the band's tempo and form as bedroom pre-college dream rock. ^{[6] [3]}

The band has performed several shows throughout the East Coast with many shows in New York already under their belt. ^[3]

Since playing live shows at the age of 16, Lindsey has been a target of sexism and misogyny with men catcalling her while she performs on stage.
