Skyler Dylan-Robbins is a video journalist. She is the founder of The Video Consortium, a network for video journalists and non-fiction filmmakers to promote visual stories in the media.
She is currently on NBC News's Left Field team, where she creates feature films and documentaries for social media platforms.
Early Life & Education
Dylan-Robbins was raised in New York City. In 2011, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in TV / Film, Italian, and Sociology from Northwestern University. While a student at the university, she also studied abroad in Italy at Università di Bologna.
Career
Full Plate Productions
After graduating from college, Sky founded her first company, Full Plate Productions.
She was an executive producer of a film production company that created online video content for restaurants, gastronomic brands, and award-winning cookbooks.
Tumblr
In 2012, she worked at Tumblr; she was their 100th employee. As the editorial producer, she oversaw and produced video stories for the blogging platform’s multimedia journalism initiative.

In April 2013, she became a senior video producer for The New Yorker . She created short films, series, and video supplements for print stories. While there, she launched the magazine on Snapchat, Instagram Stories, and Facebook Live initiatives. She also brought the New Yorker Festival to the web in video format.
In April 2016, she co-produced the "Watch Them Whip: A Decade of Viral Dance Moves" videos.
The Video Consortium
In 2015, Skyler Dylan-Robbins founded her second company: the Video Consortium.
It has created a network of over 1,500 video journalists and non-fiction filmmakers around the world to share stories using visual media.

In April 2017, Dylan-Robbins started working for NBC News' documentary unit. Currently holding the title of Visual Journalist for NBC Left Field, her aim is to make short, creative documentaries and feature films designed for social media platforms.
